Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses gentle acoustic waves to stimulate healing in muscles, tendons, and ligaments. It helps increase blood flow, reduce pain, and speed recovery for chronic conditions such as plantar fasciitis, tendon injuries, and joint pain. This therapy is quick, effective, and requires little to no downtime.

How It Works (Mechanism)

  • The shock waves produce microtrauma or mechanical stimulation in the tissues — small stresses that prompt the body’s natural healing processes. This includes increasing blood flow, stimulating growth factor release, and increasing metabolic activity.

  • May help break down calcifications or scar tissue (where tissue has hardened or become dysfunctional).

  • It can also reduce pain via effects on nerve sensitivity or inflammation.

What Conditions It’s Used For

  • Plantar fasciitis (heel pain)

  • Achilles tendinopathy

  • Patellar tendinopathy (“jumper’s knee”)

  • Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis)

  • Golfer’s elbow (medial epicondylitis)

  • Rotator cuff pain / calcific tendonitis of the shoulder

  • Hip pain (gluteal or trochanteric tendinopathy)

  • Shin splints (medial tibial stress syndrome)

  • Chronic muscle pain or trigger points

  • Scar tissue or adhesions in soft tissues

  • Some cases of delayed bone healing (under clinical guidance)
